New York!!

Oh my gosh! New York was amazing! I saw everything I’ve ever wanted to see in the Big Apple and it was even bigger and shinier than I had imagined! I loved it!

We started by riding the Subway to Manhattan. It was quite an experience! There were cross dressers and creepy guys and Chelsy almost got stuck in the doors! We rode through a few stops and got off at Grand Street. We walked through Chinatown and the whole time, I thought of my mom because there were so many little produce shops. She would have loved it! We then snuck over to Canal Street and I got myself a new purse! That was definitely unlike anything I had ever seen or experience, it was crazy! I don’t know if I’m allowed to write about it though, so, I’ll just have to tell most of you guys when I get home!

Then, Olivia and I left to go with Coach to Ground Zero. It wasn’t what I expected with all of the construction, but it was still emotional. The entire time, I was thinking about all of the families and people that witnessed the attacks. I couldn’t believe I was standing on the very grounds that people had ran for their lives on about 8 years before. But, when I saw the flag flying, it made me realize that our country is amazing and even when bad things happen like that, we still pull together and stay strong. It was awesome.

We did our story on a man there at Ground Zero who believed that the government wasn’t telling us near all of the facts. His name was Scott and he was a very interesting guy. He went out to Ground Zero every Saturday to fight for his cause. I had a lot of respect for him because whether he was wrong or right, he still stood his ground.

We then went to Battery Park and I GOT TO SEE THE STATUE OF LIBERTY! I was pretty far away but just the fact that I got to see it at all was so great! We were also looking at the Hudson River, it was beautiful! Caleb and I left a piece of us in the Hudson River when we decided to spit in it!! Hahahah!

After we left Battery Park, we met up with the rest of the group and got ready in the bus for Broadway. I saw Wicked and it was breath taking. I couldn’t believe how professional they were and they had the sweetest effects! I’m really glad I didn’t pass up that opportunity!

After that we walked around Times Square for a bit and it was SO COOL! Everything was huge and exactly like it is on T.V.

Today was by far my favorite day of the trip so far! I’m so lucky to be able to have came on this trip!

Six more days til I’m home though! I can’t wait to see my family (:
